DI grade water, or Type II water, is purified water that has had almost all its mineral ions removed, such as cations like sodium, calcium, iron, and copper, and anions like chloride and sulfate. The DI process leverages specially manufactured ion-exchange resins that exchange hydrogen (H+) and hydroxyl (OH-) ions for dissolved minerals, and then recombine to form water (H2O).

The DI-PAK ® Purification Pack (Large) is a disposable water purification cartridge for use with Milli-DI ® systems. It produces deionized water with resistivity >1Mohm.cm @ 25 °C, using tap water as the feed source.

What Is DI Water? DI water is water that has had all of the ions removed. Ions are charged particles, meaning that they have a positive or negative electrical charge. Many of the impurities in water are dissolved salts, a type of ion. When water is passed through the DI system, the ions are easily removed, leaving clean, pure water.

Milli-DI ® systems are designed to supply laboratories with a few liters of deionized water per day directly from potable water. Operation and maintenance of the Milli-DI ® system is simple; a green LED light indicates good DI water quality, and a red LED light indicates that the DI-PAK ® purification pack needs to be replaced.

Converting Tap Water into DI Water. The process of deionization exchanges all of the charged ions found in tap water for Hydrogen and Hydroxyl ions. This process helps to form the water molecule, H2O. The deionization or ion exchange process results in a true purified water “blank”; nothing but water in its purest form.

These portable, containerized desalination systems are a cost efficient water treatment option featuring state-of-the-art membrane technology to provide treated water of the highest quality. Designed for simplicity and durability. . Containerized package system is easy to transport, install, operate and maintain.

Water purification, process by which undesired chemical compounds, organic and inorganic materials, and biological contaminants are removed from water. That process also includes distillation (the conversion of a liquid into vapour to condense it back to liquid form) and deionization (ion removal through the extraction of dissolved salts). One major purpose of water purification is to provide ...

A typical water system validation program involves an initial increased frequency of monitoring of the treatment system process parameters and sampling and testing of major process points to demonstrate the ability to produce the acceptable water and to characterize the operation of the system.
